     on how much free agent MICHAEL JORDAN should be paid:  "I
     don't know what they think in Chicago, but whatever he
     makes, he's underpaid" ("InterNight," MSNBC, 7/28)....Knicks
     C PATRICK EWING is writing a book about "how and why
     children make art."  Ewing "hopes his work will serve as a
     guide for parents and teachers to encourage and inspire
     their children to express their ideas through art" (N.Y.
     DAILY NEWS, 7/27)....MICHAEL JORDAN and PRESIDENT BILL
     CLINTON played golf together at the Las Vegas Country Club
     on Monday (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 7/29)....FIFA paid $6,500
     to families of the 78 Guatemalans who were crushed to death
     in an overcrowded soccer stadium last October 16 before a
     World Cup qualifying match (WASHINGTON POST, 7/29).
