SPANOS CONFIRMS THAT HE WOULDN'T MIND BEING A KING

Chargers Owner Alex Spanos said that he's interested in
buying the NBA Kings, "though it currently isn't for sale,"
according to Jim Trotter of the SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE.
Spanos said that "he wanted to buy the club five years ago,
when it was on the market, but NFL bylaws prohibited members
from owning more than one pro sports franchise." Spanos: "I
would love to buy the Kings. I met with [Kings Owner] Jim
Thomas last year, but unfortunately we couldn't put our
heads together" He also said that if he did buy the Kings,
he would not relocate the team (UNION-TRIBUNE, 7/29).
