INTERLEAGUE PLAY SETS RATINGS RECORDS IN SELECT CITIES

           In New York, game two of the Yankees-Mets interleague     series "produced grand slam ratings" for WPIX-TV, according     to Scott Williams of the N.Y. DAILY NEWS.  The Yankees win     "blew away the competition" from 7:30-11:00pm ET, drawing an     11.9 rating, WPIX's "highest Nielsen numbers in nine years     for a Yankee game."  Williams: "Only the NBA Finals have     done better this month for a sporting event" (N.Y. DAILY     NEWS, 6/19).  On Monday, game one of the series drew a 9.7     rating on WWOR-TV, the highest it has received for a Mets     game since '91 (N.Y. TIMES, 6/19).          GIANT NUMBERS: SportsChannel Pacific (SCP) set a     network record with Tuesday's ratings of the Giants-Mariners     interleague game.  SCP drew a 3.9 rating, ranking fourth in     audience share after ABC, NBC and Fox's prime-time lineups.      From the hours of 7:00-10:00pm PT, SCP ranked higher than     the affils of CBS, WB and UPN and all cable outlets.  The     Giants averaged a 1.2 rating for regular season games (SCP).
