OAKLEY LOOKS TO XCEL IN FACE SHIELD FIELD

CA-based Oakley has acquired One Xcel, which designs
and markets protective face shields for sports helmets. One
Xcel's optical shield is officially endorsed by the NHL and
NFL. Oakley intends to relocate One Xcel to CA, but the
optical shields will continue to be marketed under the One
Xcel name. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Oakley CEO Mike Parnell said the acquisition provides "new
opportunities for Oakley to expand its relationship with
professional and collegiate football and hockey athletes,
increasing our media exposure in those sports." Ed Jarvis,
who founded One Xcel in '95, will remain with the company
under a two-year employment agreement (Oakley).
