ONE MORE CROSSOVER FOR ISIAH? RAPTORS VP EYES NFL IN TORONTO

          Raptors VP Isiah Thomas, currently attempting to buy
     controlling interest in the Raptors, "has also approached"
     Sun Media CEO Paul Godfrey "about the possibility of
     becoming involved with the group attempting to land" an NFL
     team in Toronto, according to Marty York of the Toronto
     GLOBE & MAIL.  Godfrey: "Isiah has expressed interest to me
     in getting involved with our NFL project and we've agreed to
     discuss it further in the near future."  York adds that NFL
     sources told him that a "discussion about the possibility of
     expanding to Toronto has just been added" to the October NFL
     owners' meetings.  The NFL has also assigned two employees
     to Toronto full-time, working out of the CFL office, but
     also "responsible for feeling out the Toronto market and
     making inroads on behalf of the NFL" (GLOBE & MAIL, 6/19).
