MIAMI BLUES: HEAT AND PANTHERS HAVING ARENA TROUBLES

The Heat "expressed frustration Tuesday that
negotiations on the new arena have stalled, but the team
remains committed to the proposed bayfront site," according
to Linda Robertson of the MIAMI HERALD. Jay Cross,
President of Business Ops: "As far as we're concerned, there
is no other site." The Heat recently began talks with Miami
Arena "about extending the team's lease," which runs through
     next season (MIAMI HERALD, 6/18).
BROWARD V. HUIZENGA: Also in Miami, Meg James writes
that a "another scuffle broke out" between Broward County
and Panthers Owner Wayne Huizenga's "forces" over
development of the Panthers' new arena. The argument
centers on "who should guarantee payments" for a $12M
Sawgrass Expressway interchange for fans to drive directly
into the new arena complex in Sunrise" (MIAMI HERALD, 6/18).
