LALAS KICKS OFF NEW SIGNATURE SOCCER CLOTHING LINE

          MLS' Alexi Lalas has signed a licensing deal with G-
     Industries for a signature apparel line, according to
     SPORTING GOODS BUSINESS.  G Industries will design, produce
     and distribute the "lifestyle apparel" line of casual
     shirts, jackets and bottoms.  Michael Linn, President of G
     Industries, said that the line will be "for the higher-end,
     fashion-oriented customer.  It will have a retro-surf feel
     to it that will have the potential to compete with a number
     of young men's streetwear collections."  The clothes will be
     sold at specialty stores as well as large-scale department
     stores.  A limited line will be available this fall, with an
     expanded line introduced for Spring '98 (SGB, 6/2).
