THE PARTY FOR THE RED WINGS NEVER STOPS

          The Red Wings' BRENDAN SHANAHAN was on the "Tonight
     Show."  Shanahan, on the image of hockey players: "I'm not a
     tough guy, but the toughest guys in the league are often the
     nicest guys in the league -- off the ice.  Well, I'm saying
     that because I hope they're watching" ("Tonight Show," NBC,
     6/11)....Red Wings goaltender and Conn Smythe Trophy winner
     MIKE VERNON was on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."  Vernon,
     on his plans for the Stanley Cup when he gets it for a few
     days this summer: "I have a summer cottage, I'll probably
     take it up there."  O'Brien: "Sounds romantic."  Vernon, on
     Detroit: "They call it Hockeytown, but this summer, I think
     it's going to turn into Partytown" (NBC, 6/11).
