Logo Athletic will shoot the first of its fall NFL TV
spots this month, according to BRANDWEEK. The theme of the
spot will be a bingo game with Logo endorsers Troy Aikman,
John Elway, Dan Marino, Marcus Allen and Mike Holmgren.
Logo President Tom Shine: "We're looking for humor and brand
ID." What is "still unsettled" is whether Logo Athletic
will hire a full time ad agency (BRANDWEEK, 5/26).
ADD TO THE FLEET: Fleet Financial Services, looking "to
increase its presence in the New York area," signed Yankees
SS Derek Jeter to a two-year endorsement deal. Jeter will
appear in print ads and POP and join Fleet's All-Star
Program that includes Mo Vaughn, Cam Neely, Rebecca Lobo,
Brad Faxon and Dominique Dawes (BRANDWEEK, 5/26)
RICK WHITE: SMA CEO and former MLBP head Rick White is
profiled by Terry Lefton under the header "Rick White's
Pitching Evens the Score." Lefton writes on White's role in
the Yankees-adidas deal: "White has never struck me as
particularly embittered, despite being unceremoniously shown
the door at an institution he cherished. And while White is
reticent to speak specifically about his Yankees dealings,
what he will say is this: 'Did I get some satisfaction out
of that? You bet your ass I did. My skills were
underappreciated until I left and now every league is
finding there are very rough seas out there in dealing with
their franchises'" (BRANDWEEK, 5/26 issue).
