RANGERS-FLYERS MOVED TO ESPN IN N.Y./PHILADELPHIA MARKETS

Game One of the Rangers-Flyers NHL Eastern Conference
Finals Friday will be seen live on ESPN in New York and
Philadelphia, according to Phil Mushnick of the N.Y. POST.
ESPN announced that boxing, originally scheduled for ESPN,
will be preempted in the two teams' local markets (N.Y.
POST, 5/14). Outside the New York and Philadelphia areas,
the game will be carried on ESPN2 (N.Y. TIMES, 5/14).
GOOD FOR BUSINESS: The financial impact of the Rangers
and Knicks playoff games on MSG is examined by NEWSDAY's
Elizabeth Sanger. The Knicks-Heat on the MSG Network drew
an eight rating Monday, meaning more than 500,000 homes
tuned in, "double" the number for a typical regular-season
game. The most-watched Rangers game earned nearly a six
rating, "three times" the audience of a regular-season game.
MSG Exec VP Joseph Cohen noted that ad revenue per game for
both teams is up 50% for the playoffs (NEWSDAY, 5/14).
