          CO-based Gold Medal Management has officially announced
     that Picabo Street has been added to their client list (Gold
     Medal Management)....CA-based Oakley Inc. reported "lower-
     than-expected" first-quarter net income, which dropped 95%
     to $550,000 from $11M over the same period last year.  Sales
     dropped 30% to $34.4M (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 4/18)....New
     Balance took out a half-page ad in USA TODAY promoting its
     Million Dollar Challenge to any U.S. woman or man who can
     "beat the best American time for a marathon distance by the
     largest margin" (USA TODAY, 4/18)....In N.Y., Dana Canedy
     notes, "If wide-ranging bans on cigarette advertising are
     eventually enacted ... Cigarette makers might flex their
     creative muscles by, say, sponsoring more apparel featuring
     cigarette-brand labels or paying millions of dollars to
     sports stars to puff away, for instance, during golf
     tournaments, or between sets in tennis matches" (N.Y. TIMES,
     4/18)....Bass fishing is profiled in a USA TODAY cover story
     as the new $3.1M FLW Bass Tour signed Wal-Mart as the title
     sponsor of its series that is on ESPN and ESPN2.  Other
     sponsors include Pespi, Citgo, and Owens Corning (USA TODAY,
     4/18)....Chelsea FC of England's Premier soccer league has
     signed a four-year, $7.33M sponsorship deal with England-
     based Autoglass, replacing a sponsorship deal with Coors
     that expires at the end of this season (SOCCERNET, 4/17).
