CUNNINGHAM'S RETURN IN PHILLY? NOT RANDALL, BUT BILLY

"Those in the know" say former 76ers coach and player
Billy Cunningham may return to the team as part owner and
"run the team," replacing current President Pat Croce,
according to Peter Vecsey of the N.Y. POST. Vecsey writes
that "regardless of whether that becomes a reality, a
thorough house cleaning is all but guaranteed," calling GM
Brad Greenberg "on the ropes, whereas coach Johnny Davis is
history at the end of the week." Vecsey: "Croce says if
he's learned one thing in his baptismal season as the team's
leading executive, it's that you need experience. I assume
that includes his position. That's why Cunningham's
possible presence makes sense" (N.Y. POST, 4/18).
