YOUNG MEN BY THE SEA: PRO BEACH SOCCER TOUR EXPANDS SCHEDULE
An expanded Pro Beach Soccer Tour schedule of up to 20
events, featuring former World Cup and Olympic players, will
kick off with the Miami Cup this weekend, one of three U.S.
domestic events scheduled for '97. The tour, owned by Beach
Soccer Co., a subsidiary of PA-based Viking Graham Sports
Group, has a global TV package that goes to over 120
countries and made its U.S. network TV debut on ABC's "Wide
World of Sports" last summer. Sponsors of the tour, which
"is expected to be brought under the umbrella" of FIFA in
the "near future," include Umbro, Coca-Cola, Daewoo,
Wrangler, Gold's Gym, Dr. Pepper, Trident, Citizen, Konica
and Mild Seven (Pro Beach Soccer Tour).
