PRO PLAYER STADIUM ADDS NEW SIGNAGE INVENTORY

Miami's Pro Player Stadium "will take signage to a new
extreme" by installing a 200-by-4 foot electronic rotating
sign "above the east end zone in full view of NFL
broadcasters' cameras," according to Terry Lefton of
BRANDWEEK. The $200,000 sign should be installed by August
and will sit in right field during Marlins games. Val
Pinchbeck, NFL Senior VP/Broadcasting: "Our broadcasters have
told us it is difficult for them to sell a 30-second spot if
a competitor has on-camera signage, so our rules really
preclude signage low across the end zones." But Dolphins &
Pro Player Stadium VP/Sales Bob Reif says the signage "is
well within our rights." A-B, Office Depot and Toyota have
     signed five-year "multi-sponsorship deals" which total $20M
and include stadium signage, Dolphins, Marlins, SportsChannel
spots and "other Huizenga properties" (BRANDWEEK, 3/17).
