GOLF NEWS & NOTES: VISUAL EDGE SECURES ADDITIONAL FINANCING

          FL-based Visual Edge Systems announced it has reached
     an agreement in principle with a group of private investors
     for $3.5M in additional financing.  The new financing will
     be used to launch Visual Edge's new "One-on-One with Greg
     Norman" instruction vans, to increase the advertising budget
     for the Norman instructional system, and for working
     capital.  The financing is expected to close within the next
     two weeks and is subject to board approval (Visual Edge).
          NEWS & NOTES: TN-based The Buntin Group is handling the
     Golden Bear Inc. ad account on a fee basis without media. 
     Capitalized billings will be in the $4M range.  The agency's
     primary task will be overseeing strategies and creative to
     strengthen the Jack Nicklaus, Nicklaus and Golden Bear
     brands (ADWEEK, 2/17 issue)....New MacGregor Golf President
     & CEO William Marsh, on the company's position in the market
     with respect to Callaway, Titleist and Foot-Joy: "We have no
     intention of taking them on, and we're not pretending we
     are" (GOLFWEEK, 2/15 issue)....In Jacksonville, Earl Daniels
     looks examines the PGA Tour shops, most of which are located
     in many metropolitan airports.  There are now 21 such shops
     in airports across the country (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 2/16).
