     the Fight to Advance Nation's Sports, or FANS, which
     climaxed at about 1,000 members during its run from '77-79
     (AP/FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 2/18)....Bigsby & Kruthers Cos.
     Chair JOE SILVERBERG denied a published report claiming he
     might put MICHAEL JORDAN's restaurant in Chicago up for sale
     as  "sweetener to help unload a debt-ridden chain of tie
     shops" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 2/18)....Daytona 500 Champion JEFF
     GORDON appeared on the "Late Show" with David Letterman.
     Letterman: "To win it at 25 ... you going to retire now?" 
     Gordon: "No, no, no. This is the greatest race to win,
     without a doubt, and the highlight of my career, but there's
     a lot more things out there" ("Late Show," CBS, 2/18).
