USTA TAKES A SECOND SERVE AT NAMING NEW U.S. OPEN STADIUM

"Strong protests" from the tennis community have forced
the USTA's board of directors to reconsider its decision to
name its new U.S. Open facility USTA Stadium, instead of in
memory of Arthur Ashe, according to Doug Smith in USA TODAY.
Last month, USTA President Harry Marmion said the board
advised Ashe's widow, Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe, that the
23,000-seat facility would be named USTA Stadium. But
Marmion now says that the board will meet Sunday and Monday
in Atlanta to "reconsider" the name (USA TODAY, 2/14).
