HERSHEYS KISSES $1M BYE-BYE AS ALSTODT MAKES PRO BOWL KICK

Lance Alstodt, a 26-year-old investment banker from
New York City, kicked a 35-yard field goal at halftime of
the NFL Pro Bowl for $1M in the "Hershey's $1 Million Pro
Bowl Kick." He becomes the first winner in a million dollar
sports challenge as previous contests for $1M have included
pitching a strike, sinking a ten-foot putt, and hitting a
three-point shot. Alstodt, when asked by ABC's Lynn Swann
what he was going to do with the $1M: "Now that everyone has
shown me the money, I just want to eat Hersheys, wear Reebok
and drink Pepsi." During the kick, he wore a Hershey's t-
shirt and Reebook wristbands ("AFC-NFC Pro Bowl," ABC, 2/2).
Alstodt was a guest on ABC, CBS and NBC morning shows live
     from Honolulu (THE DAILY).
HOOP'S $1 MILLION: Jim Valente from Bradenton, FL, is
the winner of the AmEx nationwide contest to take an NBA
three-point shot this Saturday during All-Star Weekend for
$1M. Valente: "I went out and bought a basketball an hour
after they told me I'd won the contest. I'd never played
     before that" (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 2/3).
