          Planet Hollywood International Inc. is planning to
     launch a syndicated talk show next year called "The Home
     Team", to be hosted by Fox's Terry Bradshaw (ORLANDO
     SENTINEL, 12/13)....Former CBS and Turner Sports broadcaster
     Rick Barry has been contacting NBA executives, seeking a job
     either as a TV announcer or an assistant coach.  Barry: "I
     called Pat Riley over the summer because I was interested in
     teaming with Jack Ramsay on Heat TV broadcasts, but I didn't
     get a call back.  I was surprised.  Pat and I had a decent
     rapport" (MIAMI HERALD, 12/13)....The N.Y. Times will
     introduce two new daily sections next September, devoted to
     sports and culture, as part of an effort to publish six
     sections daily with four-color capability (AD AGE, 12/13).
     ...Singling out the N.Y. Post because he said it had only
     one minority on a sports staff of 40, Rev. Jesse Jackson
     called for members of the Knicks to "freeze out" N.Y. Post
     reporters in the team locker room.  Jackson:  "Change occurs
     when slaves change their minds.  Patrick Ewing and a few
     ballplayers could change the Post situation by Christmas"
     (NEWSDAY, 12/13)....At the Western Cable Show, Time Warner
     Vice Chair Ted Turner, on News Corp. Chair Rupert Murdoch. 
     "He's the only person that really gets my dander up.  I like
     everybody else in the world now that Hitler's dead"
     (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 12/13)....NFL heading into the final
     two weeks: NBC is averaging a 10.7, off 2% from last year.
     Fox is at 11.6, down 9%; ABC is at 16.4, down 4% and ESPN is
     down 11% to an 8.3 (USA TODAY, 12/13).  After 14 games, the
     Redskins have averaged a 27.1 rating and a 54 share on local
     television (WASHINGTON POST, 12/13).
