TELE-TV SAYS RUMORS OF ITS DEMISE ARE GREATLY EXAGGERATED

          Contrary to published reports that the Nynex, Bell
     Atlantic and Pacific Telesis were working to shut down their
     joint-venture wireless digital TV service, Tele-TV, issued a
     statement Friday saying that the company continues to
     operate and CEO Howard Stringer and Tele-TV Media President
     Sandy Grushow, remain "under contract," according to AD AGE. 
     Tele-TV said in a statement that it and its partners are
     "finalizing" a '97 business plan focused on supporting the
     partners' digital TV products (AD AGE, 12/9).  Battaglio &
     Collier write in the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER that Tele-TV is
     "likely to become a smaller enterprise" in the coming year
     (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER ONLINE, 12/9).
