DENNIS RODMAN's, "The Rodman World Tour," debuted last
night on MTV. In Boston, Renee Graham writes that it was
"about as wild and wacky as a trip to the corner store"
(BOSTON GLOBE, 12/7). In New York, Matt Diehl gives the
show a "B-" (N.Y. POST, 12/8). In NEWSWEEK, Rick Marin
writes Rodman is "not very interesting ... To say that
Rodman doesn't connect with his guests would be an
understatement" (NEWSWEEK, 12/16). In Detroit, Mike Duffy:
"There's an awkward, embarrassing pop culture stupidity at
the heart of this catastrophe" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 12/8).
In L.A., Mike Penner notes the show "works as entertainment
because Rodman takes himself nor his guest very seriously"
(L.A. TIMES, 12/9).
IS HE LOSING IT? According to Jay Mariotti, Rodman --
live last night on SportsChannel -- told the NBA to "[bleep]
off." Rodman: "The league doesn't want to have anything to
do with me at all. ... Their chains are being pulled by
DARELL GARRETSON, the head of the officials, and whatever
his [bleeping] name is. That guy who sits up there --
Stern, Stern, Thorn" (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 12/9).
