RATINGS, GET YOUR WEEKEND TV RATINGS

     In preliminary overnight ratings, Fox's NFL games were up 3%
from last week to a 12.3, NBC's were down 8% to 13.0.  Fox's NFL
pregame was down 4% to 4.5, while NBC's second-half hour was up
7% to a 4.6 (USA TODAY, 9/10)....In Boston, the Pats/Bills
outrated the Red Sox/White Sox 4-1.  The football rating of 20.4
was "one of the strongest" among NFL markets Sunday.  Dallas led
with a 38.8 rating for the Cowboys/Giants, which only drew a 15.6
in New York (BOSTON GLOBE, 9/10)....The Panthers/Saints drew the
highest local rating in the Panthers two-year history. The game
averaged a 22.1, and for the quarter-hour beginning at 3:45pm ET,
the rating was a 28.9/53 share (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 9/10)....In
Washington, the Redskins/Bears averaged a 22.9/50 share between
1:00-4:00 PM ET (WASHINGTON POST, 9/10).
     NET RESULTS: The U.S. Open's Women's final earned a 3.9
rating, down 25% from '95's Saturday final. The Men's final,
delayed by rain, was up 4% with a 7.2 (USA TODAY, 9/10).
