STADIUM NOTES

     After touring the new $210M CoreStates Center, Timothy Dwyer
of the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER calls the facility a "state-of-the-
art, first class arena ... [which] is going to be one of those
places where players love to play and fans love to visit"
(PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 8/15)....Olympic Stadium caterer Aramark
says that "Taste of the South" counters introduced at the
Olympics will reappear when the Braves move into the facility
next season.  Menu items include: pork barbecue sandwiches, pecan
pie, and pork rinds. Buffalo black-bean chili will be the Braves'
"signature snack" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 8/15)....In the July 31
issue of SLATE, Seattle-based design writer and ballpark
consultant John Pastier compares the financing, character, design
and intimacy of the new, yet "old-fashioned" style  MLB ballparks
to classic ballyards of the past (SLATE, 7/31).
