OILERS EYE THEIR LIBERTY: '98 SEASON IN MEMPHIS

Oilers Exec VP Mike McClure said it's "all but certain" the
team will play its first season of Tennessee home games in
Memphis instead of Nashville, as they are "fairly confident"
about playing in the Liberty Bowl. Work will not begin on a
stadium in Nashville until Congress decides against legislation
restricting franchise relocations. Congress is not expected to
end its session until October, "making it unlikely" the stadium
can be finished in time for the Oilers season opener in '98
(HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 8/13).
