t-shirts and sweats in stores on September 28, the same day
Williams hit his last major league home run in '60 (N.Y. POST,
8/11)....Nike will begin airing football-themed ads starring
"Seinfeld"'s Jerry Stiller as Packers coach Vince Lombardi.  The
spots were created by Wieden & Kennedy (USA TODAY,
8/12)....Starter Corp. has moved its $15M ad account in-house
from Margeotes/Fertitta, New York.  The sports apparel marketer
now will assign ad work on a project basis (AD AGE ONLINE,
8/12)....Ray Benton and his Net Assets  partnership with Jimmy
Connors is profiled in the WASHINGTON BUSINESS JOURNAL.  Net
Assets runs the Nuveen Tour, a senior men's tennis tour Benton
created with Connors (WASHINGTON BUSINESS JOURNAL, 8/9
issue)....Luis Felipe Posso and his Tampa-based Posso
International Promotions, Inc. are profiled in the ST. PETERSBURG
TIMES.  Posso represents more than 150 runners from 50 countries
(ST. PETE TIMES, 8/10). ....The Pittsburgh-based International
Basketball League has hired Edelman Public Relations Worldwide
for marketing communications (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 8/12)....CNN's
"Moneyline" notes that Callaway Golf is one of more than 40
companies donating $100,000 to stage the Republican Convention in
San Diego.  The money goes to the San Diego Host Committee, not
the GOP (CNN, 8/9)....Discover Card will roll out a series of ads
this week starring tennis star Michael Chang, "just in time" for
the U.S. Open which starts on August 26.  The spots are created
by DDB Needham, Chicago (USA TODAY, 8/12).
