LIONS LOOKING TO LURE DAWG POUND TO THE SILVERDOME

The Lions are marketing their games in Cleveland to try to
lure former Browns fans to the Silverdome, according to Kupelian
& O'Hara of the DETROIT NEWS. Lions management is working on a
promo with Cleveland's WDOK-AM, previously the Browns flagship,
asking Dawg Pound fans to "set up shop at the Dome." ... In other
Lions news, the team's contract with WXYT-FM is "more restrictive
than anyone could imagine. At the minimum, the station will have
exclusive rights to all broadcasts originating from the
Silverdome on game day from three hours before kickoff until sign
off -- probably an hour after the game." Continuing talks might
extend the period for the entire day, "meaning expect for one-
minute updates every 30-minutes, that means no more live shows
for other stations" (DETROIT NEWS, 7/28).
