SKYDOME CATERER TO GET THE HEAVE-HO?

SkyDome has threatened to evict its food caterer, Bitove
Corp., as early as August 3 after claiming the company is
charging too much in the dome's "fine-catering" areas, according
to the Toronto GLOBE & MAIL. In court documents, SkyDome alleges
Bitove has made $226,800 in extra profits without permission, by
charging admission to the Hard Rock Cafe. In response, Bitove
has filed for more than $55M in damages for breach of contract,
fraudulent behavior and punitive damages. The dispute does not
affect SkyDome fast-food franchises, which are covered by a
separate contract with McDonald's. If SkyDome wins, it could
cancel all of Bitove's contracts, including food concessions in
the clubs, restaurants, private boxes, Hard Rock Cafe, health
club and adjoining hotel (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 7/27).
