     Shaquille O'Neal's "Kazaam" was "no slam dunk at the box-
office," as it took in just $5M in its first weekend, putting the
film in 8th place for the week (CHICAGO TRIBUNE,
7/21)....Publicly traded Family Golf Centers, with 26 golf
driving ranges in 11 states, had sales of $12M, a 95% increase
from '95.  But some analysts say the company, headed by Dominic
Chang, "may be growing too fast and won't be able to properly
manage all its ranges.  Others say competition is looming from
bigger companies," like Jack Nicklaus' Golden Bear Golf (NEWSDAY,
7/22)....Roadmaster Industries is selling its bicycle division to
the Brunswick Corp. for $212M.  Roadmaster will sell the
Roadmaster trademark and get a new corporate name (N.Y. TIMES,
7/20). ....Northfield, IL-based Coordinated Sports Management
Group has changed its corporate named to CSMG International,
Ltd., according to President Alan Nero.  Because of the inroads
outside the U.S., especially recruiting baseball talent, the
company's principals decided a name change was necessary
(CSMG)....CMG Worldwide has set up a home page on the internet
for its new client, Cigar, at www.cmgww.com.  CMG Account Exec
Kelly McLane Jones, said licensed products for Cigar will include
hats, T-shirts, as well as credit cards, debit cards, a filmed
documentary, and perhaps promos with "an upscale cigar company"
(Baltimore SUN, 7/21)....Agent Leigh Steinberg on Shaq joining
the Lakers:  "The Lakers are the team the entertainment world
follows.  The entertainment world is made up of frustrated jocks.
He's uniquely situated to benefit from that" (TAMPA TRIBUNE,
7/21).... Quaker Oats announced the resignation of Donald Uzzi,
the former Pepsi exec who was brought in to turn around the
Snapple division.  Quaker Chair William Smithburg will "have more
direct control" of the brand (NEWSDAY, 7/21).
