ACTV TO LAUNCH ON FOX SPORTS WEST; COX GOES INTERACTIVE

     Interactive TV programmer ACTV, Inc. launches its first
regional programming service this fall on Fox Sports West, the
re-named Prime Sports West.  It will be available to 4.9 million
homes in the L.A. area, with monthly subscriptions costs starting
at $9.95.  The company "will offer enhanced programming" of local
sports teams including the Lakers, Kings, Angels and Mighty Ducks
(INSIDE MEDIA, 7/12).
     COX INTERACTIVE: Cox Enterprises will set up a new unit
called Cox Interactive Media.  Plans call for the business to
provide in-depth local news and information."  Peter Winter was
named President of the unit.  In addition to news, Cox currently
has specialty sites on the World Wide Web including Fastball,
which provides baseball statistics (Charles Haddad, ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 7/12).
