     The "hottest rumor" from this weekend's Cleveland Grand Prix
is that Renault, which announced it is "pulling out" of Formula
One racing, is designing an engine for IndyCar (INDIANAPOLIS
STAR/NEWS, 6/30)....Shaquille O'Neal, to David Letterman on what
kind of money he's after:  "I don't know ... your salary."
Letterman:  "Nobody's worth that kind of money" ("Late Show,"
CBS, 6/27)....Steve Halpren's MIAMI HERALD "Investor Digest"
column lists L.A. Gear as a "solid, lowpriced" stock (MIAMI
HERALD, 6/29)....Dennis Rodman, on the "Tonight Show," said he
didn't believe Michael Jordan would ever wear makeup:  "Image is
everything -- you know, `I want to be like Mike.'  We should
change that around:  `I want to be like the Rod-man'" (NBC,
6/28).  Rodman appeared at the 17th National Sports Collectors
Convention in Anaheim, and according to card company exec Darren
