SUGGESTION MADE TO MOVE NEW REDS BALLPARK OFF THE RIVERFRONT

     Citing concerns that building new stadiums for the Reds and
Bengals on the Cincinnati riverfront would hurt non-waterfront
establishments, several local business leaders have proposed
moving the expected site of the Reds ballpark to Broadway
Commons.  The suggestion was made at a public meeting on sports
stadiums attended by Hamilton County commissioners and
representatives of K.C.-based architecture firm HOK (Anne
Michaud, CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 6/27).
     CAPITOL HILL WATCH:  Today's ENQUIRER also reports that OH's
U.S. Sens. Mike DeWine and John Glenn will oppose a bill proposed
by Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) seeking to remove the tax
exemption on municipal stadium bonds.  Still, Bengals Owner Mike
Brown is concerned that Cincinnati may not qualify as being
"under way" with its stadium plans.  The bill may exclude
communities that have already passed stadium referenda (Geoff
Hobson, CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 6/27).
