     Ed Snider, Managing Partner of the Comcast-Spectacor group,
continued his "battle" with Philadelphia's WIP-AM over criticism
and reporting concerning the Flyers and 76ers.  Sources said
Snider is considering pulling the teams' games off WIP.  Both
teams have two years remaining on their radio deals (Mike Bruton,
PHILA. INQUIRER, 6/11). ....SportsChannel notes record-setting
marks by its Chicago and Ohio Regionals.  SC Chicago gained a
25.3/37 for Game 2 of the Bulls-Magic series at one point
registering a 47 share despite penetrating only 53% of the
market.  At SC Ohio, the Indians are averaging a 9.6 (as of May
29), a 65% increase over '95.  SportsChannel reports each network
is "consistently exceeding three of four local broadcasts" for
the Bulls and Indians (SportsChannel)....Top markets for
Saturday's MLB coverage on Fox:  Atlanta 14.3/30, Denver 9.6/30,
Baltimore 7.7/21, Houston 6.2/16, and Washington 5.2/16.  The
overnight average of the top markets, according to Nielsen Sports
Marketing, was a 3.5/11 (THE DAILY).... Curtis Strange will write
a daily diary for GolfWeb during this week's U.S. Open.  Address:

produce broadcasts of the Lions' four preseason games (Marquee
Group)...
