GOLF NEWS: NANCY HALEY RESIGNS FROM SPORT-HALEY

     Nancy Haley, "the name and driving force" behind Denver-
based apparel manufacturer Sport-Haley, has resigned the
presidency of the company which she created in '86, according to
GOLF WORLD.  Sport-Haley VP/Marketing Robert Haley (no relation)
has been appointed Acting President and Director.  Nancy Haley
cited "personal reasons" for her resignation, but added she would
continue as a design consultant for up to three years.  She
denies being voted out by the board of directors (GOLF WORLD, 6/7
issue).
     AND NOTES:  Dunlop Maxfli Sports Corp. President Tom Bryant
said, despite laying off the company's business manager for golf
clubs, Maxfli Golf has no plans to abandon the club market. ...
Callaway Golf cancelled orders for 90,000 dozen balls from
Sumitomo after deciding to enter the market on its own. ...
Munsingwear, the golf-apparel company famous for its penguin
logo, has sold its domestic and certain international trademarks
and brands, including its golf knitshirt business, to Supreme
Int'l Corp. for $18M in cash (GOLF WORLD, 6/7 issue)....Jack
Nicklaus yesterday filed with the SEC to sell 1.8 million shares
of Golden Bear Golf Inc. stock for $15/share (WASHINGTON TIMES,
6/11).
