FRANCHISE NOTES

     The MLS MetroStars and Giants Stadium discontinued the sale
of soda and water in plastic bottles after a bottle-throwing
incident during Sunday's game.  They will switch to paper cups
(N.Y. TIMES, 6/11)....The Spurs and Builders Square have joined
to create the Builders Square/Spurs FanFiesta, a series of
interactive events this summer for fans throughout San Antonio.
Events include a basketball clinic, three point shoot-out and
parent-child shoot-out (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 6/11)....In San
Antonio, the Coliseum Advisory Board will weigh options before
deciding if the CHL, IHL or both could be playing in the city
next year.  The IHL Peoria Rivermen are trying to move to San
Antonio for '96-97 (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 6/10).
