LOCAL BASEBALL RATINGS: 18 OF 28 MLB OUTLETS ARE UP

     THE DAILY surveyed broadcast partners for each MLB team and
found that 18 of 28 teams are showing higher ratings for their
telecasts this year as compared to last season.  In most cases,
the '96 numbers are through the same number of games as last
year, except where indicated (^).

     NOTES:  The Red Sox switched carriers from WSBK to WABU.
The Rangers switched from KTVT to KXAS; their ratings are for the
first 17 games in '95 and the first 22 in '96.  Cubs '95 ratings
are based on 22 games. Rockies '95 ratings are based on 12 games.
Phillies '95 ratings are based on 12 games.  Expos/TQS '95
ratings are based on 20 games.  The numbers for the Expos and the
Blue Jays are aggregate viewer totals in the team's respective
provinces (THE DAILY).
