A DIFFERENT KIND OF OLYMPIC AD CAMPAIGN?

Saturn will push its links to bicycling this June with its
"Cycle Recycle" grass roots program and a Hal Riney-produced TV
spot featuring its Olympic bike team contenders, according to
BRANDWEEK. The 30-second spot will reinforce the bike theme
through shots of U.S. Cycling Federation team members and the
Saturn sedan line. It's the first time Saturn will leverage its
endorsement of the team in an ad. Saturn will also have a media
presence on NBC during the Games and will break a print ad in
Sports Illustrated to support its Cycle Recycle. Saturn is the
only GM division not included in the company's overall Olympic
sponsorship. Instead, the brand brokered its own deal with the
cycling federation (Steve Gelsi, BRANDWEEK, 5/6 issue).
