TOP TEN REASONS DAVE WILL BE AT MICHIGAN AND NOT INDY

David Letterman will be spending his first season as part-
owner of Team Rahal at the U.S. 500 in Michigan and not the Indy
500. Letterman said yesterday that Indianapolis "is where my
love of the sport came from" and "it's too damn bad" that fans
won't have the same action they are used to at Indy. Letterman:
"I do feel I'm on the right side of this (issue) ... Two things
will happen. Either Tony George will prevail or he won't"
(Angelique Chengelis, DETROIT NEWS, 5/9). Chris Economaki of the
NATIONAL SPEED SPORTS NEWS notes the PR war was being "clearly
won" by CART until last week, when Indianapolis business leaders
came out in favor -- "and strongly so" -- of George (NSSN, 5/8
issue).
