NAMES IN THE NEWS

     NEWSDAY is reporting MIKE TYSON may have the "law on his
side" in combating allegations of sexual assault.  Two of the
bodyguards assigned to Tyson during his Sunday night visit to a
Chicago nightclub were off-duty Chicago policeman (NEWSDAY,
4/12)....Former Nuggets Exec and U.S. Skiing CEO TIM LEIWEKE has
reportedly had talks with the L.A. Kings about joining their
organization (DENVER POST, 4/11).... TONYA HARDING, planning her
competitive comeback to skating after her second divorce,
announced she will hold an ice show in Las Vegas.  Harding,
according to ESPN's Charley Steiner:  "Don't get any wild ideas
here, okay.  I'm not going to be performing nude or topless or
anything like that, OK?"  Steiner:  "OK" ("SportsCenter,"
4/11).... "Entertainment Tonight" previewed WHOOPI GOLDBERG's new
movie "Eddie," in which she becomes the new head coach of the
Knicks.  Players featured in the preview:  Spurs guard AVERY
JOHNSON, Hornets forward LARRY JOHNSON, then-Kings guard WALT
WILLIAMS, Kings center OLDEN POLYNICE, and then-Spurs forward
DENNIS RODMAN.  "Eddie" will open May 31, in the middle of the
NBA Playoffs ("ET," 4/11).
