TYSON CAMP QUIETLY FIGHTING OFF ALLEGATIONS

MIKE TYSON and promoter DON KING remained silent yesterday
as Chicago police continued to investigate an allegation of
sexual assault by the boxer on a 25-year-old beautician at a
Chicago night club last weekend. Chicago police said "no charges
have been brought and no arrests have been made" (Jay Searcy,
PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 4/11). The CHICAGO SUN-TIMES reports two
companions of the woman corroborate her story, while a third,
accompanied at a press conference yesterday by the general
manager of the night club, did not back her claim. A probation
officer for Marion County, IN, where Tyson served a previous
sentence for sexual assault, said a police report without charges
does not constitute a violation of parole, but that Tyson should
not have been in a bar (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 4/11).
