MARYLAND STADIUM AUTHORITY TO MANAGE MEMORIAL FOR RAVENS

The Maryland Stadium Authority approved an agreement to take
over management of Memorial Stadium from the city of Baltimore
during the two seasons it will be used by the NFL Ravens. The
agreement calls for MSA to bring the facility "up to NFL
standards." MSA will also operate the stadium during games, at
an estimated cost of $1.8M a year. It will be reimbursed from
its share of a 10% ticket tax that is split 80/20 with the city.
The city will pay for and provide traffic control, and city
police will be used for game-day security, but paid for by the
MSA. The Mayor of Baltimore's office will receive free use of
two sky boxes and ten tickets per game (Jon Morgan, Baltimore
SUN, 4/10).
