EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

     Eagles VP/Business Development & Broadcasting JEFFREY
AUERBACH announced his resignation, citing his frustration with
"the slow pace of decision-making in sports" (PHILA. INQUIRER,
4/7)....JERRY SACHS, President of the Centre Group and "one of
the most senior aides" to Bullets/Caps Owner ABE POLLIN, resigned
yesterday.  Sachs reportedly "wasn't happy" about his
"diminished" role (WASHINGTON POST, 4/9)....The Celtics promoted
MARTY FALKENBERG to Manager of Game Ops, and hired JO O'CONNOR as
Dir of Advertising and Special Events (Celtics)....HOK Sports
Facilities Group has promoted RICHARD MARTIN to Senior VP, JIM
SWORDS to VP, and ROBERT GILLCRIST to VP (HOK)....DONNA RANDAZZO
has been promoted to VP & Controller of MSG Network (MSG)....Cap
Cities/ABC announced that Broadcast Group President MICHAEL
MALLARDI will retire in June and that his post will be
eliminated.  Cap Cities/ ABC Radio Division President JAMES ACARA
will also retire, and be replaced by ROBERT CALLAHAN (N.Y. TIMES,
4/9)....NewSport has named four new regional sales managers:
KERRIN O'BRIEN, Northeast; PAUL BOUCHER, Southeast; JODY HAAS,
West; and MICHAEL HANKINSON, Central (NewSport).... Sports Media
Inc. has hired former NFL Properties Senior Dir of Marketing RAY
KATZ as a consultant (Sports Media).
