COCA-COLA RETURNS TO OPENING DAY LINEUP AT YANKEE STADIUM

     The Yankees and Coca-Cola yesterday signed a long-term
agreement giving the soft drink maker marketing rights, exclusive
pouring rights, and advertising and signage rights at Yankee
Stadium.  The agreement ends a two-year hiatus for Coca-Cola from
Yankee Stadium, during which RC held pouring rights.  To mark the
partnership, Coca-Cola and the Yankees will donate 25,000 single-
game tickets to area youth groups.  Coca-Cola now has sponsorship
deals with 25 of 28 MLB teams and stadiums (Coca-Cola).  The
three-year deal is valued at "slightly" under $1M a year (ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 4/9).
     BUD SIGNS WORLD CUP DEAL:  Budweiser will serve as an
official Worldwide Sponsor of World Cup France '98.  As a
worldwide sponsor, Budweiser receives the exclusive category
global rights to use the World Cup France '98 official marks and
designations in advertising, promos and merchandising, as well as
on all packaging, including cans, bottles and cartons.  Budweiser
also will get the rights to two on-field ad boards for all 64
matches (Budweiser).
