MOORES AND MCLANE HAVE DOUBLE VISION IN HOUSTON

     Astros Owner Drayton McLane supports a plan conceived by
Padres Owner John Moores to build a baseball-only stadium for the
Astros while restructuring the Astrodome to house an Moore-owned
NFL expansion team after the Oilers leave.  According to the
HOUSTON CHRONICLE, the plan follows in the footsteps of similar
proposed one-sport stadium strategies in Cincinnati and
Pittsburgh (Terry Blount, HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 4/6).  Columnist
Dale Robertson calls Moores' plan "pure genius," assuming the
Astrodome can be reconfigured and the "whole shebang can be paid
for without clobbering us taxpayers" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 4/8).
