STADIUM NOTES

     Yankees Owner George Steinbrenner postponed a meeting today
with city officials where he was to be briefed on a $600,000
study that reportedly leans toward a new stadium on Manhattan's
West Side.  The meeting will occur within the next two weeks
(NEWSDAY, 4/3).  Steinbrenner is in CA filming an episode of
"Seinfeld" (WASHINGTON POST, 4/3)....A lawsuit filed yesterday
seeks a halt in construction of the CoreStates Center citing non-
compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (PHILA.
INQUIRER, 4/3)....The Tigers announced stadium upgrades, ranging
from structural changes to improvements in customer relations.
Wider bleacher seats and a new picnic patio in center field will
reduce capacity to 47,501 (DETROIT NEWS, 4/3)....Hawks President
Stan Kasten said they are close to deciding whether to build a
new arena on the Omni site or in a nearby railroad gulch.  Kasten
said the decision will be based on whether the Omni can be better
used for office space (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 4/3).
