TINKERING IN THE TRUCK -- FOX TECHIES WORK ON PUCK

In preparation for Sunday's re-launch of the FoxTrax
computer-enhanced puck in Detroit, about a dozen Fox technicians
used Wednesday's Red Wings-Sabres game to fine-tune the look of
the new technology. Mike O'Hara reports, while Fox officials
would make no comment, they indicated (as previously reported)
the puck's blue dot will be replaced by a smaller white dot.
Stan Honey, who helped develop the system: "We can make it look
any way we want it to look." Fox officials say fans will be able
to keep pucks shot into the stands and that the puck costs "far
below" the reported $400 figure (DETROIT NEWS, 3/28).
