     The White Sox say their idea of buying ads in Cleveland
newspapers to sell tickets to Sox-Indians games at Comiskey Park
does not indicate ticket sales are lagging (CHICAGO TRIBUNE,
3/15)....The AHL Board of Governors approved the transfer of
Baltimore Bandits' ownership to Michael Caggiano (WASHINGTON
POST, 3/15)....The Baltimore NFL franchise could choose a name as
early as Wednesday, after a meeting between team execs and NFL
Properties officials yesterday.  The choice will most likely come
from  Mustangs, Ravens, Marauders, Railers and Americans
(Baltimore SUN, 3/15)....After months of negotiations, the CFL
Argonauts signed QB Doug Flutie to a two-year, C$2M contract
yesterday.  Flutie is still owed US$685,000 by Stampeders Owner
Larry Ryckman, whose financial corporation declared bankruptcy
two weeks ago (TORONTO STAR, 3/15)....
The Braves, filling Municipal Stadium to 60% of capacity for
spring games, are "not the only team in Florida having trouble
drawing fans."  The Marlins are down around 24% and seven teams
are drawing less than 3,000 a game  -- Toronto, Texas, Montreal,
Kansas City, Cincinnati, the Mets, and White Sox (I.J. Rosenberg,
ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 3/14).
