     TNT's "Inside the NBA" on Tuesday will feature "Music
Night," with a live performance by popular singer Monica.  She
will headline a segment that will look at the musical careers of
Shaquille O'Neal in rap, Wayman Tisdale in jazz and Mark Price in
"contemporary Christian" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
2/19)...."Dateline NBC" will do a piece on former CBS golf
analyst Ben Wright.  The show already has Valerie Helmbreck of
the Wilmington News Journal on tape, but "is striving, without
success, to get Wright on camera" (Jack Craig, BOSTON GLOBE,
2/19)....The NCAA has stopped KDKO-Denver's plan to air The
Chauncey Billups Show.  Billups is freshman basketball player at
the Univ. of CO, but NCAA regulations "forbid college players
from having shows named after them because it gives the
appearance that an athlete is endorsing a sponsor's product"
(ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 2/18)....With 5.1 million subscribers,
SportSouth is "now the second largest regional sports network in
the country, trailing only" New York's MSG Network, with 5.3
million (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 2/17)....Attempts to bring the Big
Ten, Pac 10 and Rose Bowl into college football's bowl alliance
"face a stiff hurdle" from CBS and the Orange and Fiesta Bowls.
CBS "would insist on having the Big 10/Pac 10 champ play in an
alliance bowl even if it's ranked No. 1" (USA TODAY, 2/20)....Dan
Fabian has resigned as GM of WGN Radio.  He has held the post
since '87 and has been replaced by Wayne Vriesman, VP/Radio Group
for Tribune Broadcasting Co. (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 2/20).
