ARISON SAYS HE'LL AVOID THE ICE, STICK WITH THE HEAT

     Heat Owner Micky Arison said Friday he has no plans to buy
the Panthers from Wayne Huizenga because he is "as far into
sports as I want to get."  Arison, Chair of Carnival Cruise
Lines, said that he wouldn't absolutely rule out such a deal in
the future, but "would prefer that's not the way things come
down."  Arison added that he hopes to have the Heat playing in a
new facility by '98-99, and has become "more receptive" toward a
site in Broward County (Amy Shipley, MIAMI HERALD, 2/17).  Arison
added that four teams may be too many for the South FL market.
Arison: "I clearly have that concern" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 2/19).
