SPEROS AND STALLIONS NOW LOOKING TOWARD MONTREAL

Stallions Owner Jim Speros and limited partner Michael
Gelfand were in Montreal yesterday trying to negotiate a deal to
move the team there, according to the Baltimore SUN. Sources say
the team would either play in Montreal in '96 or disband. This
action comes after reports the CFL is considering a dispersal
draft and shutdown of U.S. franchises for at least one year.
Speros has said he is in negotiations to move the team to
Houston, but Astrodome USA Owner Drayton McLane said news of
Speros' trip to Montreal was a surprise (Kevin Eck, Baltimore
SUN, 1/25). The TORONTO SUN reports Speros said Tuesday he will
look into Montreal, and if no deal can be reached there, he will
turn back to Houston (Mike Ganter, TORONTO SUN, 1/25).
