BUCS RESUME TALKS WITH TAMPA OFFICIALS ON STADIUM ISSUE

Following their last meeting on January 12, officials from
the Bucs and Tampa plan to meet again as early as this week,
according to the TAMPA TRIBUNE. The talks come even though the
Bucs have publicly broken off talks about the project. The Bucs
have insisted that the meetings be kept quiet and threatened to
cancel the January 12 meeting if the media showed up at the Tampa
Sports Authority. TSA officials initiated the first meeting, but
Bucs GM Rich McKay called TSA exec Mandell Shimberg on Wednesday
from the NFL meetings in Atlanta to set up a meeting. Shimberg:
"I don't want to draw more to that than meets the eye, but I did
indicate we will happily try to put something together" (Joe
Henderson, TAMPA TRIBUNE, 1/20).
